The only full two storey structure with gambrel roof in Nova Scotia is Scotmanor house, this building was built by Joseph Scott an Irishman who arrived in Halifax with Governor Cornwallis on a land which was given by the King of England, even after the Halifax and Magazine Hill explosions, the house still exists with two mortar less and loose field stone chimney bases. Until 1992 Scott Manor House remained as a private residence, today it is the registered property of Provincial and Municipal Heritage and has exhibited several artifacts, which includes Ranger Dress uniform, antique house hold items and a 19th century rolled chaise lounge.
